summertime

I have been neglecting this blog lately. And that is good. It is so easy to get caught up in the lives of others (what they are doing, what they are wearing, where they are going, etc) and lose sight of all the blessings in your own life. So sometimes, a break is just what I need.

Every June, it takes a couple weeks to face the reality that I do not have a summer vacation. But once I accept that fact, I get over it and move on. Just because I cant spend my weekdays relaxing, doesn't mean I shouldn't make the most of my summer weekends.

Saturday bike ride.

River front bike path (aka ag road by irrigation canal)

homemade whole wheat burger buns

bbq burger with grilled onions and sweet potato fries. enjoyed on the patio.

scully. looking cute. waiting for any crumbs to drop.

John and I used to love that "riverfront" bike ride. We need to do that again soon...once I can actually sit on a bike again :)

Where's your homemade burger bun recipe?! That looks so yummy!

Sorry Carrie! I meant to include it :) http://www.tasteofhome.com/Recipes/40-Minute-Hamburger-Buns

I used whole wheat flour this time and it turned out great. I would recommend making them larger than what the recipe says. I usually do not get 12 rolls, more like 6.

Hey I have one of those beagles too! So darling, and what wonderful escape artists they are.

And those orchards remind me of my hometown, I'm a Bako girl. Representing the 661 from Oklahoma, USA.

One more thing: sweet potato fries are the BEST! Love your blog
