lemon buttermilk cookies
I am always looking for new ways to use the buttermilk I buy for our Sunday morning pancakes. Maybe some of you encounter the same predicament. May I suggest these buttermilk cookies? They are easy enough to make on the weekends, but cute enough for even a party or shower. And they are so so good.
The recipe calls for one teaspoon lemon zest. But with my neighbors tree looking like this...
....I have a lot of lemons to use
So, I decided to add more zest and lemon juice to the glaze. You should too.
This recipe makes a lot of cookies. Fine with me. They freeze really well. And if you are lucky enough to have a neighbor with a well producing lemon tree that hangs onto your property, you should thank them with some of these cookies.
Recipe found here.

Oh Toni they look yummy! I may have to bake a batch for the "Big Day" since we're having a dessert table. The groom is a lover of lemon!
I must try those soon. They sound delicious!
I made them with orange zest and they were great! Thanks for sharing.
